Prescription Drug Disposal:
The P2D2 Prescription Drop Box is located in the lobby of the Massac County Sheriff’s Office, 515 Market, Metropolis, Illinois.
You can also dispose of old syringes/needles outside of the Sheriff’s Office with no questions asked.
MCDAC offers free prescription drug disposal bags to the community. One bag can dispose of 45 pills OR 6 oz. of liquid OR 6 patches. Just fill the bag, add warm water, and dispose of the bag in your own trash. There are many ways to obtain a bag!
Please contact us at (618)316-4472 or massacdrugawareness@gmail.com if you would like a bag delivered to your home by a MCDAC volunteer. We will leave the bag(s) on your porch so no contact is necessary.
The bags are also available from our community partners: Metropolis Police Department, Massac County Sheriff’s Department, Massac County Mental Health, Massac Memorial Hospital/Clinics, Metropolis Drugs I, Metropolis Drugs II and Southern Seven Health Department.
Stop by our office at 506 Market in Metropolis. Bags are available for pick up Monday – Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
